By 18:00 of Thursday capital passed new maximum peak of electric energy consumption - 16000 megawatts, announced the head of municipal service Petr Aksenov. The growth of energy use is caused by severe frost.
"At present moment situation in the city is normal. There was no power cut in apartment houses, schools, kindergartens. Registered several local breakdowns didn`t influence hot water supply", - noted Aksenov.
Aksenov emphasized that authorities work in close co-operation with Russian United Energy System.
"We will not introduce addition limitations on electric energy supply. Acting limitations are enough for UES to provide maximum electric energy consumption in the city", - added Aksenov.
By his words, transport operates in normal regime. About 100 trolleybuses were substituted by bus services.
The day before Moscow administration appealed to directors of organizations and enterprises to declare January 19 and 20 as days off in order to decrease load on capital energy system during strong frost.
Only several Moscow enterprises, including "Salut" plant in East district, agreed to transfer working days on weekend. "Salut enterprise uses almost 30 megawatts of electric energy", - noted Aksenov.
