On Friday night 5 people died from getting too cold in Moscow.
Another 19 people were hospitalized with chilblains, informed Moscow center of ambulance. The majority of frost-victims are bums or citizens in state of strong alcoholic intoxication.
Frost in Moscow and near-Moscow started to weaken. On Friday morning the temperature was -30 degrees centigrade, and it increased to -24 by night, but wind became stronger and it started to snow. On Saturday morning it was -22 in the town.
Such weather will last for several next days. But weather forecasters expect that a new wave of frost will start from Tuesday. During January 24-27 air temperature in Moscow will not exceed -20 during the day and will fall to -25-27 at night.
During extremely strong frost 8 houses in Tomilino village stay without heating for several days.
By Saturday morning heating supply, which was cut off because of breakdown at village boiler-house, has not been resumed.
By words of Head Emergency Ministry administration over Moscow oblast, additional 4 trouble-breakdown crews were sent to the village for liquidation of malfunction. It is expected that heating supply of houses will resume by Saturday evening.
Other Russian regions also suffer from sever frost. 9 settlements of Altai krai stayed without heating and electric energy at night. About 40 thousands people remained without light because of electric main rupture. By Saturday morning power supply was partially restored, 2 settlements still remain without light.
