FSB praised the contribution of foreign countries in ensuring security at the Sochi Olympics. According to the head of the Agency, Russia urged to restore the activities of the working group on ensuring security for the world Championship on football in 2018.

The Western powers helped Russia to avoid a number of terrorist attacks at the Olympics in Sochi in 2014. This statement was made by the Director of FSB Alexander Bortnikov.

"During the preparation and holding of the Olympic games 2014 we managed jointly with our partners from many countries, first of France, Germany, Austria, the United States and Georgia, to prevent a series of terrorist attacks on Olympic venues, which were being prepared", - TASS quoted Bortnikov.

According to him, Russia urged to restore the activity of the working group of foreign countries during the world football Championship in 2018. Besides all this, he reminded that the adepts of the intelligence agencies of different countries were providing security in the first European games in Baku. "In ensuring the security of the recent first European games in Azerbaijan participated adepts of the secret services of several countries, even domestic structure worked there," he concluded.

Vladimir Putin after the Olympics, praised the level of security. "As professionals, you perfectly understand that such activities necessarily involve high risk. Missteps, miscalculations intelligence extremely expensive here," said he to the adepts of secret service earlier. The President thanked them for the excellent work, courage and professionalism.
