North Ossetia could lose Jimhickey rock fortress North Ossetia could lose one of its main attractions - Jigisha rock fortress. The walls of this building may not withstand the test of time. The monument needs restoration.

Fortress in the village of Dzivgis nearly a thousand years. A fortification erected on a steep cliff. A year ago at the foot of this mountain appeared a private house with a stone fence. The structure blocked the approach to the fortress. There was only a narrow passage between high walls. The Committee for the protection of monuments went to court and won. Decided to demolish the house and the fence. Because of the numerous about the salaries of the officers could not get to work, but a year later, the dismantling began.

The fence has been demolished already, now workers dismantle the mansion. Playground for 2-3 weeks will be restored to its original state. But people still have many questions. Who gave permission for the construction? Why the Committee for the protection of monuments in advance not imposed a ban on construction in this area? Why the court ruled that the construction was already finished?

Currently, the rock fortress you can freely come. But it is in poor condition. no field work was not carried out for decades. Some of the walls had collapsed, the stones can fall off any minute. All hope that the monument will be included in the Federal program and will begin restoration work.
