Unified Energy System CEO Anatoly Chubais promises to build dozens of new power plants in Russia. He declared it on Tuesday at the ceremony, dedicated to the start of constructing the third power unit for the Heat and power plant-27 Moscow power utility Mosenergo.
"On the Power engineer Day we start realization of the new energy policy in the country. The third energy unit construction is a radical step concerning growth of new energy plants building in Moscow region and in the country on the whole. I am sure, that dozens of such energy plants will appear in Russia in th nearest future", said Chubais.
Speaking about source of finance for the third power unit construction the Unified Energy System CEO mentioned, that received funds will include means of loans, in particular, drawing up a loan from European reconstruction and development bank by Moscow power utility Mosenergo amounting up to $250 million has been approved recently. "We are going to discuss the opportunity of emission with Mosenergo shareholders, which could attract hundreds of million dollars," said Chubais.
He also noted, that by the end of the first quarter 2006 the list of all generating companies to conduct IPO and additional emission.
