Russian United Energy System is not afraid of high loads on power supply system in the view of hard frost, informed trustee of organization Andrei Trapeznikov.

Because of severe frost, record loads on power supply system have been registered in Moscow. "Historical maximum of power consumption was registered by Mosenergo on January 17. It amounted to 15319 kilowatts by 18:00. Then the load decreased", - informed Trapeznikov.

By his words, this is maximum for all history of Moscow power supplying system, including Soviet period.

"We now operate with sufficiently higher powers than in Soviet Union. But I doubt this is the only record. Frost is getting harder and we will work in special regime current and next week. But we are confident in our power system", - said Trapeznikov.

Trapeznikov confirmed that Botkin hospital of Moscow was cut off from electricity for some time yesterday. "It happened because some construction organization carried out drilling operation and damaged underground cable".

Energy holding appealed to Moscow authorities to prohibit realization of land surveying, excavation and assembly works during frosts, especially near electric main.
