At present moment 10 millions of illegal migrants live in Russia, informed vice-director of Russian Federal Migration Service Vyacheslav Postavnin. 80% of Russian illegal migrants originate from Commonwealth of Independent States.

"The majority of migrants are normal, honest people, who work for family well-being. They have no goals of harming to our country", - noted representative of FMS.

At the same moment Postavnin considers that demographic problem in Russia can not be solved be means of migrants` attraction. "Demographic situation is close to crisis. But we must understand that solution of demographic problems by means of migration is rather complicated".

From its turn deputy chief of Interior Labor Migration administration Vlasova announced that attraction of migrants can become the main method of demographic situation improvement. "Starting from 2007, annual reduction of working population will amount to 1 million people". The measures for birth rate increase will show results in 20 years. "A problem of labour resources in Russian economics becomes more strained".

Vlasova stated that Russia needs labour migrants. "As a rule, migrants apply for low-paid jobs in unfavorable working conditions. Russian population ignore such positions and migrants fill vacancies necessary for Russian economics", - explained Vlasova.

Postavnin agrees with this point of view. He announced that FMS refuses from retributive policy and works on creation of migration labour exchange, which will represent united database of vacancies for labour migrants.
